A drawing for and inspired by the movement for Black lives. Now more than ever is time to stand up, speak out, and support Black lives. NonBlack peoples need to do the work that Black and Indigenous people have done for centuries. What we are seeing in media and social platforms is not new. As an artivist I understand the importance of highlighting historical, cultural, and racial traumas to acknowledge and unlearn anti-blackness for social and political change. As a mental health professional I understand in doing so protects and supports the mental/emotional wellness of Black peoples. This is a time where YT and non-Black poc need to support the movement in ways we can.
